Palm Mall Mars
by 猫 シ Corp.

Mankind cheered: not even 100 years after the first human set foot on the moon we made our first Mars colony.

Another 100 years later we cheered again: the first craters on Mars have been succesfully terraformed, cities are built and mankind is ready for it's first migration to another planet. To celebrate Earths Senate CEO opened in 2149 the first Martian shopping mall: PALM MALL MARS !

Today, the year 2199, we celebrate the 50th birthday of Palm Mall Mars. We welcome you with special discounts on luxurious items, grand offers on newly built Ring Worlds and will let you try out the new ARPE! Come visit us and get a 50% discount on your first Poulsen Treatment!

See you at Palm Mall Mars!

Top-tier material.

I love how versatile  猫 シ Corp is...
Do not hesitate to tell me if I misspell something or if my grammar's wrong. I'm still learning English.

I'm digging this one as well! somehow I haven't connected with it emotionally as much as most of his other work. too much of a background feel but I'm sure repeated listens will help. I dunno. I miss bangers like first floor, I consume therefore I am and second floor.

what do you think is the standout track on the album?

I believe your approach to the album is wrong.

It's not about single tracks that stands out, it's about giving you the feeling, which is very well done with the commercials inbetween.

Don't listen to every song seperate, listen to the whole side of the tape. in order, not mixed.

Hopefully that might help you getting the same feeling i got by listening to the album.

True! I do listen to vaporwave albums as a one piece of art. I never use shuffle or play songs out of their context (ok, except for lisa frank 420 from time to time, but seriously who doesn't?)
I gave it a couple of spins and I think the album is a bit too comfortable for me. My GF and I actually fell asleep last night while listening to this without any side-effects.
Vaporwave often has this hypnagogic quality to it, but I didn't feel it here like I felt for example "News at 11". Not sure how to put this into words, I miss the profoundness and contemplative aspects in this record

boi was I wrong, this album is great! turns out headphones can make you immerse in the beautifully crafted atmosphere of Palm Mall Mars. there's crowds, cashiers, machines overjoyous about giving you cash and a wierdly mechanical bird (prob. a native mars species) in there.
the fact I'm BS-ing over a faint bird noises should tell you enough of the other-worldyness of Palm Mall Mars.
